Fast and Comfortable Fingering

Natural and ergonomic fingering in which notes separated by a whole tone are found on diagonals and the fingers remain in their natural curved position, the index (pointer) finger on a closer row in relation to the fingers of greater vertical reach, namely the middle and ring fingers.

The use of the thumb is optional as Atzarin was originally invented to play without using the thumb, an important consideration for musicians coming from other bisonoric instruments where the thumb is not used for playing notes. However, using the thumb greatly increases the ease and comfort of playing and makes it possible to use techniques that greatly increase the expressive possibilities of the instrument.

Open keystroke/fingering style where the finger preparing to play the next note stays next to or moves away from the currently playing finger, but never under or over it. This enables a very fast, comfortable technnique as opposed to the "bunched" or "cramped" fingering style required on the international chromatic system.
