Atzarin Bandonion Button Arc Overview

Perhaps the most striking element of the new Atzarin bandonion's sleek appearance is its stylish button arc, a compact array of buttons beautifully arranged in three steps of elegant, streamlined curves. Specially designed for an Atzarin bandonion layout, it is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also combines practicality, compactness and comfort in a unique, ergonomic arrangement that enables the use of the thumb in playing technique without loss of stabilility.

Ergonomic, curved rows that follow the index (pointer) finger and little finger as they separate from the other fingers, sloping at an angle so as to follow the line of the thumb as it extends away from the hand, reduce the need to slide the hand up and down the palm rail, increasing stability and control of the instrument, compared to C or B system bandonions.

As there are only three curved rows of there is no need to slide or rock the hand backwards and forwards to reach notes on rows further from the palm rail or at either end of any of the rows, again increasing the control and stability of the instrument.

The curved, ergonomic rows that slope towards the thumb in combination with more compactly spaced buttons let you play the very broadly voiced chords typical of bandoneon tango music with greater comfort than on straight rows on other kinds of bandonion.

Another unique aspect of the Atzarin bandonion button arc is its arrangement in stepped rows offering greater playing comfort and easier playing technique, especially regarding the use of the thumb and playing chords on non-adjacent rows. As they radiate out from the hand rail, each row is 4mm higher than the previous one. The stepped, ergonomic rows with 11,8mm buttons, larger than on a traditional bandonion, make the button arcs unique.
