Modified keyboard layouts - Why Atzarin?

There is considerable interest amongst people who play the diatonic accordion, concertina or bandonion in modifying existing layouts or experimenting with alternative layouts to improve the capabilities of the instrument ie increase the number of different musical keys that can be played in, make chord shapes, fingering patterns and transposing easier etc.

Amongst people who play any kind of bisonoric bellows driven instrument, such as accordion, concertina, bandonion, Chemnitzer, there are many people who are frustrated either by the limitations of the instrument or by its highly irregular or idiosyncratic nature. Some of these would-be squeezebox players simply give up.

Atzarin is aimed at both kinds of people.
